Self portrait
A defining moment occurred to me while painting a white rose, and observing that it reflected more than seven color tones. From that moment on, I began to perceive with greater appreciation the varying shades of autumn leaves, the plumage of birds, the architecture of trees, their movement, and the light.
My passion for art began when I was first exposed to traditional Japanese art, newly married in Tokyo. My artwork has since expanded to floral arrangements, mosaic sculptures and applications, silk wool and Nuno felting, pastels and acrylic paintings, resin and dried leaves art to give new life to still objects.
My paintings draw inspiration from images of my native country of Chile, my adopted homes in Japan and Europe, and the United States, where I currently reside.
